THE BOOK OF MORMON TESTIFIES OF JESUS CHRIST

The Second Book of Nephi

Wherefore, redemption comes in and through the holy Messiah, for he is full of grace and truth. Behold, he offers himself a sacrifice for sin, to answer the ends of the law to all those who have a broken heart and a contrite spirit; and to none else can the ends of the law be answered. Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known to the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the holy Messiah, who will lay down his life according to the flesh, and take it again by the power of the Spirit, that he may bring to pass the resurrection of the dead, being the first that should rise. Wherefore, he is the first fruits unto God, inasmuch as he shall make intercession for all the children of men. And they that believe in him shall be saved. Because of the intercession for all, all men come to God; wherefore, they stand in the presence of him, to be judged of him according to the truth and holiness which is in him. 1:71-79

Oh, then, my beloved brethren, come to the Lord, the Holy One. Remember that his paths are righteousness. Behold, the way for man is narrow, but it lies in a straight course before him, and the keeper of the gate is the Holy One of Israel; and he employs no servant there. And there is no other way, save it be by the gate, for he cannot be deceived; for the Lord God is his name. 6:79-82

For there is but one Messiah spoken of by the prophets, and that Messiah is he who should be rejected of the Jews. For according to the words of the prophets, the Messiah will come in six hundred years from the time that my father left Jerusalem. And according to the words of the prophets, and also the word of the angel of God, his name shall be Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Now my brethren, I have spoken plainly, that you cannot err. As the Lord God lives that brought Israel up out of the land of Egypt, and gave Moses power that he should heal the nations after they had been bitten by the poisonous serpents, if they would cast their eyes to the serpent which he raised up before them and also gave him power that he should smite the rock and the water should come forth; behold, I say to you, that as these things are true, and as the Lord God lives, there is no other name given under heaven, save it be this Jesus Christ of which I have spoken, whereby man can be saved. 11:34-39

For we labor diligently to write,
to persuade our children, and also our brethren,
to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God;
for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.
Notwithstanding we believe in Christ,
we keep the law of Moses,
and look forward with steadfastness to Christ,
until the law shall be fulfilled;
for, for this end was the law given.
Wherefore, the law has become dead to us,
and we are made alive in Christ, because of our faith;
yet we keep the law because of the commandments.
And we talk of Christ,
we rejoice in Christ,
we preach of Christ,
we prophesy of Christ,
and we write according to our prophecies,
that our children may know
to what source they may look
for a remission of their sins. 11:43-48

As I spoke concerning the convincing of the Jews that Jesus is the very Christ, it is necessary that the Gentiles be convinced also that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God; and that he manifests himself to all those who believe in him, by the power of the Holy Ghost. 11:78

Hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words, believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ, ye will believe in these words; for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should do good. And if they are not the words of Christ, judge ye: for Christ will shew unto you, with power and great glory, that they are his words, at the last day. And you and I shall stand face to face before his bar; and ye shall know that I have been commanded of him to write these things, notwithstanding my weakness: And I pray the Father in the name of Christ, that many of us, if not all, may be saved in his kindgom, at that great and last day. And now, my beloved brethren, all those who are of the house of Israel, and all ye ends of the earth, I speak unto you, as the voice of one crying from the dust: Farewell until that great day shall come. 15:11-16
